Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) introduces long-term developmental needs that require continuous adaptation from families, particularly parents who assume multiple caregiving and advocacy responsibilities. Despite increasing global awareness, caregivers—especially in low-resource and culturally diverse environments—continue to experience high emotional stress, stigma, financial strain, and limited access to appropriate services. This review synthesizes literature from 2014-2024 to examine the psychological challenges faced by parents of autistic children. The findings highlight recurring themes including caregiver stress, guilt, isolation, cultural beliefs, structural barriers, and family dynamics. The review emphasizes the importance of early intervention, psycho education, inclusive schools, and family-centered support models. Strengthening awareness and service systems is essential for improving parental wellbeing and long-term child outcomes.
